"What's New at Millennium Rail?"
"Adding Capacity at Neodesha" Millennium’s Neodesha, KS plant experienced a surge in general service tank car cleaning during 1999. To handle the increased volume of work, the staff expanded facility capabilities by adding an additional wash head and tower.
	Adequate sized supply tanks were already on-hand, a new pump, valving and wash tower were added and the new wash facility at Neodesha cleaning rack was ready to go.  This new facility went on-line on 2/7/00. "Building Railcars at Junction City and Wood River " Millennium is building a specially designed railcar, a mechanical refrigerated boxcar, pictured at right, for the exclusive use of Tropicana Products, Inc. (www.tropicana.com).  This car will be used to transport orange juice from Florida to Tropicana’s distribution warehouses in Cincinnati, OH and Jersey City, NJ.

Millennium’s Junction City, KS and Wood River, IL plants were chosen to do this innovative work because they are certified for building new railcars and have prior car-building experience.  The majority of the components for the new car were purchased from suppliers, however, a small number of components were fabricated by Millennium. Millennium will build 135 total cars for this order:  90 at Junction City and 45 at Wood River.  Delivery of the completed cars to Tropicana began in late March, 2000 and the project is expected to be completed by May 15, 2001.
